California Unemployment Rate
Due to the recession of 2008 and which continues into 2010 the California unemployment rate is quite high. As of November 2010 the California unemployment rate is listed as 12% which is going to possibly increase towards ten percent unemployment. California has many challenges in lowering the unemployment rate. In California there are many more people who seek employment. Add to this the difficulty in being bordered by Mexico, residents of California who are unemployed must now compete with cheaper labor as they search for any job that will help them meet their monthly expenses. It is possible that as the California unemployment rate rises those who came to California through Mexico may find their way back home if jobs formerly done by these persons are now filled by citizens of California willing to work for less pay.
